Toio ist eine legendäre Stehlampe, die 1962 von den berühmten italienischen Designer Achille und Pier Giacomo Castiglioni für die Marke FOS entworfen wurde. Es ist ein Beispiel für ein minimalistisches, industrielles Design, das harte Eleganz mit Funktionalität kombiniert. Diese einzigartige Lampe wurde von Auto -Scheinwerfern inspiriert. Sein roher, industrieller Charakter wird durch einen sichtbaren Transformator und ein hohes, einstellbares Design hervorgehoben.

Achille Castiglioni

Achille Castiglioni (1918–2002) war einer der größten italienischen Designer des 20. Jahrhunderts, die für die Kombination von Funktionen mit Humor und Innovation bekannt waren. Er studierte Architektur in Mailand und arbeitete jahrelang mit seinen Brüdern zusammen, erstellte ikonische Projekte für Marken wie Fos (Arco, Taccia, Toio), Zanotta (Mezzadro, Cumano) oder Alessi (trocken). Er war berühmt für die Fähigkeit, alltägliche Objekte in das höchste Testdesign zu verwandeln. Seine Werke sind durch Minimalismus, Einfallsreichtum und zeitlose Form gekennzeichnet.
